If you haven't seen Wayne Brubaker's Holiday Light Show before, now you'll have no excuse for missing this Mission Hills gem. It was last December that I happened upon it, my first in Mission Hills, when I was driving on Sunset Blvd up from Old Town with my visiting out-of-town relatives. We rounded the corner from Juan St and were blinded by a light show you typically only see on the news. 50,000 synchronized lights matched to music broadcasting on a radio station channel mesmerized us for a good 20 minutes after we pulled over. When it was over and began to loop again we broke out in cheers, knowing we would be back another night to enjoy it all over again. This year Wayne is throwing a lighting ceremony and holiday party to kick off his light show's holiday run. It starts at 5pm on Saturday Dec. 11 at 2150 Sunset Blvd. Snacks and drinks will be available for those that donate a Toy for Tots (unwrapped please) or $10 which will be given to the Boy Scouts to purchase toys. More information is on his website: http://sunsetlights.com Let's all walk there so as not to clog up the streets!!!
Thanks Wayne for bringing the holiday spirit to Mission Hills!!!
