Allen Canyon Nature Walk, Sunday, April 18th, 8:45-11am

Allen Canyon is a hidden gem in the heart of Mission Hills.  We had a very large and enthusiastic response to this walk last year--it's a great place to learn about San Diego's natives and why it's important to preserve this critical resource. The Canyon has some fine examples of coastal habitat, and is often a birding hotspot.  It even has a small stream that has been flowing much of the wet season!  Meet at the top of Allen Road next to Espresso Mio.

Although the trail is not long, it has experienced some serious erosion this year and is narrow and rocky in some short sections.  Be sure to wear appropriate clothing for the weather that day; you will want long pants and sturdy shoes in any case.  Prolonged or heavy rain cancels.  Please RSVP to Steve Huemmer, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
