You may have seen on the news that the city is embarking on a repaving plan of "historic" proportions to shore up San Diego's decrepit streets. A local Mission Hills realtor friend took the time to review the 44 page repaving document and found only one two block area on Washington Place near Grant Elementary that was getting any attention in our piece of the city. This is a little disappointing to say the least, considering all of the recent infrastructure work tearing up our community's roads. However, I just did a little more research and found that we are in fact getting more work done here than initially thought. If you go to the city's website they have several PDF documents relating to the project. If you look at the list of streets the will receive asphalt overlay , it is true that Mission Hills will only receive two blocks of new asphalt paving, but if you look at the map of what streets will receive slurry-seal upgrade and asphalt overlay, you will notice that some of our roads are getting the slurry-seal upgrade. The map below shows the slurry-seal upgrades in blue and the asphalt in red. Of course, this will not satisfy everyone, but then again, isn't California broke?
