Mission Hills community organizations hold annual events, not only for residents, but also for those interested in the history of our neighborhood or looking for family oriented fun.

Summer Concerts in the Park

Every summer there are free concerts in Pioneer Park put on by the community organizations and businesses.  It is one of the most beloved traditions in Mission Hills.  This year the Mission Hills Town Council and the Mission Hills Main Street Foundation are planning 10 Summer Concerts!  They kickoff on June 20th this year and continue through August.  Don't miss the annual 4th of July Celebration in Pioneer Park too!

We encourage you to become a member of the Mission Hills Town Council in order to help financially support the concerts.  You can also make a contribution that will go toward holding additional concerts this summer at the website. Membership and community information can be found at www.MissionHillsTownCouncil.org.

Garden Tours

The Mission Hills Garden Club puts on an annual Garden Club Walk, held on the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend. It is their major fundraiser for the year and is a great way to get gardening inspiration from some of the many wonderful private gardens of Mission Hills. See our calendar for more information on this year's Garden Club Walk.

Mission Hills gets into the Haloween spirit each year with elaborate decorations throughout the neighborhood.  Front yards transform into eerie cemetaries while ghosts, goblins and spiders swing down from the rooftops.  On the big night, the streets come alive with hundreds of trick-or-treaters eager to show off their clever costumes.  While the delighted shreiks of children echo throughout the neighborhood, Sunset boulevard in particular sees streams of families out celebrating this spooky holiday.

4th of July

MHTC-July-4th-Ad-PS_The Mission Hills Town Council puts on an annual 4th of July celebration in Mission Hills with a neighborhood parade that ends up in Pioneer Park.  The party continues with games for the kids and live music throughout the afternoon as families picnic in the grass.  It is a great way to celebrate the holiday with your neighbors.  At night, residents head to the various neighborhood vista points to watch the fireworks light up the bay.  There is also a BBQ Competition during the 4th of July Celebration and Mission Hills Town Council members will get to enjoy free BBQ (you can join day of if you aren't already a member!).  Click here for more details on the BBQ Competition.
